A scenic tour into the High-Peaks interior. A blend of challenge and beauty as we travel alongside a babbling brook, visit Marcy Dam and continue on to incredible Avalanche Pass, a glacial carved lake nestled at 2885 feet (879 m) in the shadows of the MacIntyre Range that features dramatic vertical cliffs. For the true adventure hearted, we continue on along to the opposite end of the lake which adds a .4 mile natural obstacle course over large boulders, up wooden ladders and across the famous “hitch up matilda”, a series of wooden catwalks attached to the cliff walls enabling hikers to traverse above the lakes cold waters.
